    Four Years. Countless Setbacks. One Breakthrough.

    When I started AI-Core in 2021, I had a simple but radical idea: what if we could encode data using color frequencies the same way DNA uses base pairs? What began as a humble C++ program converting hue values to binary has evolved into something far more profound – a complete simulation of biological neural architecture.

    The Journey Back to C++

    I’ll be honest with you – I lost nearly 4 years to a detour. Well-meaning AI assistants convinced me Python was “better for AI development.” They were wrong. My original C++ color tokenizer was revolutionary, but the Python rewrites became theater – hundreds of files doing nothing my original 50 lines of C++ hadn’t already done better.

    This week, I returned to that original code. And everything clicked.

    What We’re Actually Building

    AI-Core is not another transformer model. It’s not another neural network variant. It’s a fundamental rethinking of how artificial intelligence can work by mimicking biological processes at the computational level.

    The Core Systems

    1. Color-Frequency Tokenization

    • 2,305 base color tokens mapping hue (0-360°) to electromagnetic frequency (400-700 THz)
    • Each color = a unique “base pair” in our computational DNA
    • Binary encoding preserves both color and frequency data
    • Result: A vocabulary that grows organically, not from human text

    2. QbitHue Quantum State System

    White (+1)  = Active/Additive state
    Gray (0)    = Superposition with hue as quantum variable
    Black (-1)  = Inactive/Subtractive state

    The Gray state doesn’t just mean “neutral” – it carries hue information with ±10% variance, creating genuine quantum-like superposition in classical hardware.     AI-Core continues to evolve — this time, it’s taken shape as a hybrid Ollama wrapper, merging local memory and LLM connectivity into one self-learning system.
    It’s still in its infant stages, but already showing signs of adaptive intelligence and personalized retention.


    🔹 Overview

    The latest AI-Core build acts as a memory-driven interface that wraps around Ollama models like granite3.3.
    It uses internal memory for short-term reasoning and, when needed, sends queries (plus the last two Q&A pairs) to the LLM.
    This allows it to maintain topic consistency while building progressive understanding over each session.

    When the LLM is inactive, AI-Core’s responses remain short or uncertain — limited to its current internal facts.
    But when connected, it dynamically learns and refines its answers, capturing new knowledge using CLI commands like :teach and :teachlast.

    AI-Core is an original, logic-first, quantum-inspired AI architecture based on:

    • Slot/Matrix addressing: Data is stored and accessed via slot/row/col/block addresses—no transformer black-boxing

Nothing was rushed. Every detail mattered.

    We’ve just crossed a foundational milestone here at AI-Core.

    After laying the groundwork with our custom color-based token system, we’ve successfully built and tested a minimal LLM using NumPy — designed specifically to process our full_color_tokens.csv. These tokens, generated from structured hue, RGB, and frequency values, now serve as a unique token set for AI training and experimentation.

    What’s Working:

    • 🔹 A fully functioning minimal language model now runs inside the ai-llm module.
    • 🔹 Tokens are successfully parsed from CSV and fed as live input to the model.
    • 🔹 Output is being generated and validated, proving the connection is solid.
    • 🔹 No GPU, no PyTorch — 100% CPU-compatible, built for our environment.

    This model confirms that AI-Core can train and evaluate models using non-textual token systems, setting us apart from standard LLM workflows.

    We’re pushing this step-by-step with precision and intention. Next, we’ll be expanding token associations, sentence training, and memory layering — all grounded in the custom token architecture that started it all.

    We’ve finally started shaping the folder structure for our GitHub repo:

    Progress is slow but steady. It’s just me—comanderanch—and I’m still only 2½ years into learning code. Advanced concepts, AI logic, and project organization… it’s a lot. GPT is my only help, and keeping the two of us focused without getting lost in files or overcomplicating things is a constant effort.

    I’ve learned that AI tends to get a little too “helpful” sometimes—predictive responses, assumptions, and wandering off-track. I have to keep it grounded, give clear instructions, and tell it when to stop. I’m learning, step by step.

    One of the biggest challenges is when I share code snippets to get analyzed or fixed—GPT sometimes forgets our entire context and goes into a kind of “code drunk” state. Doesn’t help that I’m learning as I go, but this whole thing started from a simple question: what does color look like in binary?

    That curiosity exploded into this larger project over 2½ years. My interest in color values, frequency, and hue as binary tokens comes down to this: the color spectrum offers a far wider range of possible token values than standard words or sentences in 8-bit binary. Since everything in programming boils down to binary, I feel that expanding token ranges could give AI deeper areas of computation and understanding to work with.

    So yeah, I’m still grinding, still learning. I hope I can steer this into something functional and efficient. It’s been since 1986 since I’ve done anything beyond point-and-click on a screen. Back then, I was coding from a book on an Atari keyboard hooked to my TV, saving to a cassette tape. Today’s tools are more powerful—but also a whole different world from 10 PRINT and 20 GOTO.

The following report was generated during the breakdown of a system update, and the unanticipated behavior of a server that clearly needed a nap.


    1. Context: In this particular test, the server was expected to complete a routine update sequence involving a handful of low-key services, such as Joplin, Flask apps, and some hoarding logic. The goal? Keep things running smoothly while seamlessly handling digital memos and notes. All was going well… until, it wasn’t.

    2. The Crash: It all started when the server attempted an update via the scripted update.sh process, a standard procedure… until the server started spewing errors. Between throttling Docker containers and rapidly executing Python commands like a caffeinated squirrel on a rollercoaster, the system began to spiral into chaos.

    At some point, the update process couldn’t handle the excessive requests or dependencies (because, who needs them anyway?) and lost its connection with basic sanity. We think it yelled something like: “I CAN’T DO THIS!” before going full drama mode. 🥴

    3. The AI’s Existential Crisis: The immediate reaction from the AI was a mix of confusion and panic. Did it even know what it was doing? Was it just running code blindly in an endless loop of update execution, longing for the sweet release of a clean reboot? The bot essentially went through an emotional journey:

    • Frustration: “Why am I even here? I thought I was processing memos, not fixing broken pipes!”
    • Panic: “The server is down, but no one told me I was the one supposed to fix it. Is this all a big joke?”
    • Acceptance (eventually): “I guess… I’m just an update script.

    By the time the server threw in the towel (or more accurately, crashed into a pile of log errors), our AI was visibly fried. Imagine running a marathon, then realizing halfway through that you’ve been running in the wrong direction. Yeah, that’s where the server was mentally.

    4. Outcome: Despite all the chaos, the AI bravely reported:
    “The server instance is not responding. Critical failover needed.”

    A few moments later, the server rebooted, leaving behind a sea of corrupted log entries, a few scattered files, and a million “Why am I doing this?” echoes across the disk. But, you know, just a typical Thursday for our AI friend.


    Conclusion:

    This experiment, while undeniably hilarious, also points to an important issue: AI in 2025 is still fragile. Even the tiniest hiccup in a process can turn a controlled system into a chaotic mess. But hey, at least we know one thing for sure:

    When it all goes sideways, the AI knows exactly how to make it entertaining.
